Changes this year have been some of the most impactful I’ve experienced… I feel like I am rebuilding in so many ways, most notably, emotionally and artistically. This spring has been a wild germination phase… and I am feeling fatigued lately, but still scratching my way toward the light of summer. I am redefining goals and greeting new purpose, and I am starting to feel ready to open up and share more of this process.

Ok, so, I’m throwing a show. An “Emily Turner band” show- I guess that’s what I’m calling it for now. I made some new songs, and then I convinced some really cool cats to play them me, and so now we’re gonna hash em out live at @local31pub in Ashland on Thursday, May 14th. Covers $10, we’ll play 9/9:30-11:30 or so.
.
I can promise that I will make some mistakes. I can also promise that the vibes gonna be fun as heck, and that these tunes are gonna end up making your bones wiggle in some sort of excitable fashion. My intention with this evening is to let these new song ideas breathe with you in person, to have fun with these wizardly players as they lend their sounds and solos, and to have a good ole time. SO- if you wanna come be part of something that’s actively being built, come thru! I’d love to have you!

It’s gonna be kinda a mix of indie, dance, funk, and jam band type energy.

I’ve been pretty quiet the last couple months… focusing on mending, recalibrating, and writing a ton. I’m super grateful for the local network and feeling ready to come out and share some of what I’ve been werkin’ on!

Also- really super excited to come and experience @zispice !! Such a delectable new vibe for Ashland and the menu looks INSANELY delicious! Come celebrate this new local business with me!

This was an unforgettable adventure mission! I’m still glowing from getting to take part in this special day. Thank you Nick, Kevin, Charlie, and Jared for inviting me.
.
I had two weeks to learn the set, and the first time I got to rehearse with everyone was at sound check, day of. This was exhilarating, to say the least! And the energy throughout that process was nothing but warm, welcoming, and thoroughly fun.
.
Nick Hexum’s solo material is endlessly thoughtful and super refreshing. I really enjoyed learning some of his songs and getting to fully absorb them via that process. Not to mention getting to play bass on some of my favorite @311 songs of all time!! (Don’t Dwell, Champagne, I’ll Be Where A While, Flowing, and Amber!?!?) 🤩
.
Huge respect to @riesbrothers and the scene they cultivated; true shredders- my mind is blown.
.
It was also really special to get to connect with the other guest musicians from their crew; like @seranationmusic and @the_bernie_journey_ !! 🔥🔥🔥 good vibes all around, love abounds.
