Mother's Love Music Video is out!

The music video for Emily’s new song “Mother’s Love” is now live!

Mother’s Love is an ode to the unique and beautiful love that mothers offer in this life. The song was written as a Mother’s Day gift for my own mother in 2020, and was released on my debut solo album “Here” on May 1st 2021. Jared Masters produced the song, in which I play ukulele, upright bass, and sing, and guest musician Noah Jenkins plays the entire string section.

For this project, I teamed up with videographer and artist Daniel Favela and we cooked up a concept in which we used polaroid photos to signify memories of a Mother’s Love, ending in a scene that illustrates both the multitude of examples of this love as well as a unifying message and thread of love throughout all motherhoods.

We, naturally, were running extremely last minute in terms of a proper video production, but indie as we are, we pressed forth AND opened up the video to listeners and fans for participation by allowing them to submit photos of their own mothers to be included in the video.

We were pleasantly surprised by how many patrons jumped at the opportunity to shout out their Moms, and were soon organizing and printing photos of over 30 mothers! Not bad for two days of promotion and organization and an extremely organic following! Any more Moms and we would have not been able to fit all the shout outs in one video!

This project was conceptualized, filmed, edited and released in-house within a period of six days, all independently, with some financial support from a handful of caring fans, to whom we are ever grateful. One could said we’re indie thru and thru. We’re already scheming up the next video, so stay tuned!
